Jammin’ some demos at the Secret Cinema #CouldBeAnywhere
Far up on the edge of Ilkley Moor lies Sam’s place or the Secret Cinema, as I like to call it. Perched on a cliff by a waterfall, with endless views, it was once someone’s private ‘secret cinema’ and is now Sam’s studio. We sometimes go up there to play our instruments and have happened upon a natural way to record (without out sounding too pretentious) – just hit ‘record’ from the moment we sit down. Just gimme some words and I’ll sing em – make up a melody as I go, ya know! We were up there last Thursday, and with the help of the little mic used on Nick Drake’s Pink Moon this happened…
